(12月21日-2)米国国勢調査、人口3億人

米国で国勢調査の結果が発表された。2010年4月時点の人口は10年前から9.7％増加し、3億人の大台を超えた。細かいことは3番目のリンクの「First 2010 Census Results」に資料があるので、そちらを確認すればよい。この10年間で米国の人口増加は年当り1％を下回ったことになる。センサス調査は、今年上半期に雇用統計における臨時雇用という撹乱要因になったりしていたことを思い出す。このセンサス調査の結果を元に、米国では選挙区の割り当てなどが決められていく。特に、ラスベガスのあるネバダ州で人口が35.1％と急上昇していた。ただ、こういった地域は住宅バブルの影響があったと言えなくもない。

The U.S. Census Bureau announced today that the 2010 Census showed the resident population of the United States on April 1, 2010, was 308,745,538. (米国センサス局は本日2010年のセンサス調査によって、米国の2010年4月1日時点の居住人口が3億874万5538人であったことを公表した。)

The resident population represented an increase of 9.7 percent over the 2000 U.S. resident population of 281,421,906.(2000年のセンサス調査時の2億8142万1906人から居住人口は9.7％増加した。)
