(4月20日-2)インドの利上げ

インド準備銀行が3月19日の緊急利上げに続き、今回は正規の政策発表日において、政策金利を0.25％引き上げ、預金準備率も0.25％引き上げた。そのけっか、レポレート(中銀貸出金利)は5.00％から5.25％へ、リバースレポレート(中銀借入金利)は3.50％から3.75％へ上昇し、キャッシュ・リザーブ・レシオ(中銀預金準備率)は5.75％から6.00％へと上昇した。レポレート、リバースレポレートの引き上げは即日実行、キャッシュ・リザーブ・レシオは4月24日からの実施となる。

インドは中国に続き、内需主導型の景気回復が続いており、景気は良好である。一方で、インフレも徐々に懸念され始めており、利上げ実施は中期的な経済活動をサポートする上で適切だったと考えられる。今回の決定の結果、同日のインド株市場は上昇しており、金融引き締めが景気悪化に繋がるとの懸念は小さいようだ。

Liquidity Adjustment Facility – Repo and Reverse Repo Rates
As announced in the Annual Policy Statement for the Year 2010-11, the Reserve Bank has decided to increase the repo rate under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) by 25 basis points from 5.00 per cent to 5.25 per cent and the reverse repo rate by 25 basis points from 3.50 per cent to 3.75 percent with immediate effect.

On the basis of the current assessment and in line with the policy stance, as set out in the Reserve Bank's Monetary Policy Statement 2010-11 issued on April 20, 2010, it has been decided to increase the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) for Scheduled Commercial Banks by 25 basis points from 5.75 per cent to 6.00 per cent of their net demand and time liabilities (NDTL) with effect from the fortnight beginning April 24, 2010.
